It's suitable for all fitness levels, ensuring nobody gets left behind or feels held back, as we cater to different Walk Levels. Our Nordic Walking Beginners Workshops are enjoyable 90-minute sessions. You will learn the 10 steps of Nordic Walking during these sessions.
- Introduction to Nordic Walking and its origins.
- Everything you need to know about Nordic Walking poles and how to use them safely.
- Begin learning the ten steps of Nordic Walking.
- A little Nordic Walking to put what you've learned into practice, as well as time to talk and ask questions.
- Introduction to the second part of the ten steps of Nordic Walking, including technique drills.
- Hill techniques to help you conquer the Cornish hills a little easier whilst looking after your joints.
During the session, your instructor will also inform you about the various Nordic Walks that we offer, how to book them, how our booking system works, and the benefits available to you as a Walk Kernow Member.
There will be plenty of time to ask questions both during the session and during the post-session refreshments. If you have any concerns about starting Nordic Walking with us, please contact us. Remember, you do not need to be fit to start Nordic Walking!
NB: Although we do not cancel our Nordic Walks due to inclement weather, we do postpone our Beginners Workshops due to the difficulty of teaching and the discomfort it causes you. If there is a postponement, you will be notified via email, text, and phone as soon as possible.
